After a week of searching, volunteer teams recovered Friday the body of B'nai Barak lawyer Moshe Kaniel. Kaniel's funeral was scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Friday in the Segula Cemetery.
Kaniel's body was found approximately one kilometer from Marina Beach in Tel Aviv.
Zaka teams had searched for evidence as to the missing attorney's whereabouts since he was reported missing last Friday. On Friday morning, Zaka had initiated a final "push" to recover Kaniel, beginning with morning prayers at the Dolphinarium parking lot in Tel Aviv.
Kaniel's body was recovered a few hours after the initiation of the search Friday morning. Helicopters, all-terrain vehicles and jeeps were all donated for the purpose of the search.
Kaniel's family expressed thanks to the medical identification facility at Abu Kabir for speeding up identification of the body so that it could be buried before the beginning of the Sabbath.
