Bush to drive to Jerusalem, forcing closure of Route 1

US President George W. Bush will arrive in Israel Wednesday two hours earlier than previously planned and will be driven to Jerusalem rather that flown by helicopter, it was announced Tuesday.
Israeli officials said the change was due to security considerations. The alteration means that Route 1 will be closed in the Jerusalem direction on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
The capital is expected to see severe traffic problems during Bush's three-day visit. Numerous central streets will be closed to traffic and parking, and residents are advised to seek alternative routes.
