Canadians, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are undertaking a $2-million project to help revitalize Jerusalem's city center, which has been in serious decline for years, according to The Canadian Jewish News.
The Royal Bank of Canada will host the campaign's kick-off in Toronto on March 7, under the chairmanship of its vice-president for governmental affairs, Charles Coffey, an honorary member of the board of the Jewish Foundation of Canada, the organization overseeing the campaign.
It's the biggest project undertaken by the foundation in Canada in at least 10 years, said Monica Berger, the Montreal-based national executive director of the Foundation and wife of David Berger, the former Canadian ambassador to Israel.
