Muhammad Jahidi, the 21-year-old Kalkilya resident accused of killing Inbal Amram in early March, was indicted in a Tel Aviv District Court on Thursday. The indictment claimed that Jahidi had crossed into Israel with the intention of stealing a car. When Amram resisted the robber, he allegedly pushed her into the car and stabbed her during a struggle that took place while the car was in motion. The defense attorney told the Tel Aviv District Court that Jahidi confessed to the crime and expressed remorse, saying "I made a mistake, I didn't mean to kill her. I would like to ask [Amram's] family for their forgiveness." Jahidi's arrest had been delayed by almost a month because he was in the Palestinian Authority. He was finally arrested by an elite Border Police unit, following a joint investigation by the investigations unit of the Yarkon area and the Shin Bet security service. Amram, a 21-year-old IDF soldier, was found dying in her family's car, after she disappeared on her way to pick up her sister from a party.
