Chief-of-Staff: Amona protestors "set new rules"

Chief-of-Staff Dan Halutz told the Amona investigative committee that he "predicted that the protestors at Amona would try to present new challenges and set new, tougher game rules than those in the disengagement [from Gaza] - and that's the way it went." "Despite this," said Halutz, "I commanded commanders not to change the guidelines for use of force, since I understood that most of the settlers were lawful people and only a small fraction of them were interested in confrontation."
