Chief rabbis allow residents in North to break fast

Israel's Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar and Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger said on Thursday that residents of the North suffering from ongoing Katyusha attacks on their communities were permitted to break Thursday's Fast of the 17th of Tammuz. Amar also advised all Jews in Israel to pray for the soldiers in combat and for the welfare of the two soldiers kidnapped by Hizbullah on Wednesday.
