Child seriously injured in fall from bus

An 8-year-old member of the Beduin Koa'in tribe was seriously injured Sunday afternoon at Shoket Junction, after falling from the bus in which he was riding home from school. During initial police questioning, the bus's driver said that the boy had apparently been playing with the bus's back door. When the bus came to a halt, the door opened and the boy tumbled out on to the busy road. MDA teams took the injured child to Beersheba's Soroka Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition on Sunday evening. Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a safety official was examining the bus itself to see if structural failures led to the incident.
