The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday ruled that foreigners who request a legal status in Israel due to their common law marriage with Israeli citizens will no longer have to leave the country before filing the request.
In its ruling, the court effectively changed the current policy implemented by the Interior Ministry and equated the status of married couples to common law couples.
