Condition of soldier who collapsed worsens

The condition of an IDF soldier who collapsed during a training exercise in the Jordan Valley overnight worsened on Tuesday morning. The soldier is now in critical condition after spending the night at the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. The soldier apparently suffered cardiac arrest after running 1,800 meters. The IDF was investigating the circumstances of the incident, which occurred during a physical evaluation that included a 2,000 meter run, push-ups and chin-ups, in preparation for officers' course.
