The Tel Aviv District Court ruled Tuesday that the Israel Electric Company was guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Yochai Gabbai, a nine-year-old boy who was electrocuted when he tried to climb an electric pole in Herzliya nine years ago.
The ruling said that the Electric Company could have foreseen the danger and barricaded the pole so that children wouldn't be tempted to climb it.
The Electric Company stated in response that it was considering an appeal, but would make a final decision only after thoroughly studying the judge's ruling, Army Radio reported.
