Defense lawyer: Mother admits to involvement in abusing her children

The mother accused of abusing two of her young children admitted to partial involvement in the abuse, said prosecution lawyer Devorah Ataya Wednesday morning. The admission took place during a hearing before judge Zvi Segel, at the Jerusalem District Court. Nevertheless the defense attorney emphasized that a fierce struggle is expected during the trial: "it will not be a trail of confessions," she said. Ataya requested time to familiarize herself with evidence before the mother is indicted. Justice Segel ruled that the next hearing will be on May 22.
