Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter called on Sunday for Israel to hold negotiations only with ministers in the new Palestinian unity government who respect the conditions of the Quartet.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, Dichter said that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's opposition to setting up a Palestinian state with temporary borders was essentially an opposition to the second stage of the "road map" peace plan, which calls for a provisional Palestinian state while the PA negotiates the final borders with Israel.
He added that Israel must make it clear that changes could only be made to the road map with the agreement of all parties.
