Dichter: Egyptian border fence construction a question of priorities

The matter of constructing a fence along the open Israeli-Egyptian border is a question of priorities, Public Security Minister Avi Dichter said Tuesday. "In the end there will be a fence, but it must be decided whether to first complete the security fence in the Hebron area, or in the Jerusalem area, or to construct a fence on the Egyptian border. The dilemmas are tough, and Israel can't do everything at once," he said. Visiting the scene of Monday's suicide bombing in Dimona, Dichter said "we must learn the lessons from this attack at the highest levels...and act in order to prevent such attacks."
