Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin said Tuesday in a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that although Israel has foiled attempts by the global Jihad to establish an ideological infrastructure in the territories, the Jihad has not established a terror infrastructure there.
Diskin said that the Jihad's general plans to carry out terror attacks in Israel had been exposed and foiled. According to Diskin, weapons and explosives smuggling into the Gaza Strip has increased greatly since Israel's withdrawal from Gaza.
He continued by stating that the amount of explosives smuggled into Gaza since disengagement is bigger than the total amount smuggled into the strip since the Six Day War.
