A 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were shot dead in Beersheba early on Wednesday, in a double homicide that has sent shockwaves through the Negev city.The victims have been named as Veronica Cor, who was a police volunteer and was scheduled to be drafted into the IDF, and Moshe Abayev.RELATED:Ben-Dror charged with murder28-year-old foreign worker found murdered in NetanyaThe shooting took place in the early morning at Abayev’s apartment, police said.Police believe he may have been involved in a feud with criminals, but that Cor had no involvement with the killers and was caught up in the attack by chance.The nature of the relation between the two victims is unclear.While some reports described them as a couple, police believe Abayev may have been set to marry another woman in the near future.Cor’s mother, Lula, told reporters on Wednesday that she had warned her daughter to stay away from Abayev.The Negev Police’s Central Unit, under the command of Dep.-Cmdr. David Buani, has obtained a media gag order banning publication of the investigation details. The Central Unit is leading the investigation.
