Double voting allegations probed

Supreme Court Justice Dorit Beinish, chairwoman of the Central Elections Committee, asked Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz on Thursday to order a criminal investigation into alleged double voting at six polling stations. The stations were in Peki'in, Taiba, Hura and three in Kfar Kasim. According to the suspicions, some eligible voters voted in their home polling station and also in special polling stations where they deposited their ballots in double envelops. The investigation is unlikely to alter the final results of the election because it involves only 170 voters, CEC spokesman Giora Pordes said.•
