Drive-by shooting, stabbings in center cloud weekend

A 14-year-old boy was injured by a gunshot in Lod on Friday, in what police say was a drive-by attack targeting the victim’s older brother.
The teenager was standing with friends on a street corner when the shots were fired in their direction from a vehicle. A bullet struck the boy in the waist. He was rushed by his friends to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Tzrifin.
Police officers flooded the area after the shooting, arresting one suspect. Police say they think the attackers were looking for the injured youth’s brother, as part of a criminal feud.
Three days ago, a 34-year-old bouncer was shot dead in the same area as he exited his vehicle and walked toward his home.
Meanwhile, three people were stabbed and seriously wounded in violent incidents elsewhere over the weekend.
In Netanya, a 56-year-old kiosk owner and his 23-year-old son were seriously injured by attackers armed with knives early on Saturday.
Police suspect the stabbings followed an oral confrontation between a gang of drunken youths and the victims. The gang had vowed “revenge” after being asked to leave the area by the victims, police suspect, and returned a few hours later with knives.
The father was stabbed in the chest and suffered severe blood loss,and his son was stabbed in the waist, paramedics said. They were rushedto Netanya’s Laniado Hospital. Police have detained one man inconnection with the incident.
In Petah Tikva, a 23-year-oldwoman was stabbed in the back by her boyfriend following an argument.She was taken by Magen David Adom paramedics to Beilinson. Herboyfriend has been arrested.
