Druse municipal workers protest turns violent

A protest by dozens of Druse municipal workers outside the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem Wednesday turned violent after the demonstrators tried to storm a police cordon and pelted police officers with sticks and bottles of water, police said. Two demonstrators were arrested for assaulting police officers during the late-morning protest over the government's failure to transfer promised funding. At one point, protesters also set a garbage bin on fire, and moved it in the direction of police. There were no injuries reported in the violent altercation.
