"Early release of spy Manbar would damage public's trust in legal system"

"The early release of [convicted spy] Nahum Manbar will damage the public's trust in the justice system in light of the seriousness of his offences," the state prosecution said in a response to the district court on Monday. The court will hear Manbar's appeal on Tuesday after he served two-thirds of his sentence, Army Radio reported. Manbar was sentenced to 16 years in jail for spying for Iran.
