An Egyptian helicopter was nearly struck down by the Israel Air Force recently after they reportedly entered Israeli airspace. The planes approached the foreign aircraft after the latter were suspected of heading to the nuclear research plant near Dimona, Channel 2 reported. The Egyptian helicopter retreated back into the Sinai Peninsula after seeing the IAF jets. The IDF denied the Channel 2 report. Infiltrations of Egyptian crafts into Israel reportedly happened at least twice in the past, but the IDF did not respond to the potential threat. According to the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, the Egyptian army may hold up to six unarmed helicopters in the Sinai Peninsula, but they may not enter Israeli territory. Yaakov Katz contributed to the report.
