Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak contacted Prime Minister Ehud Olmert by telephone Tuesday to discuss developments in the region.
Olmert updated Mubarak on his expected meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, scheduled for Thursday.
The two leaders also discussed ways to continuing the diplomatic process with the Palestinians.
