Eitan: Don't get excited over Syrian VP's security comments

Israel should not "get excited" over comments made by Syrian Vice President Farouk a-Shara that Syria was examining a series of potential responses to the IAF's alleged foray into the country's airspace, Pensioners Minister Rafi Eitan said Sunday.
A-Shara, speaking to the Italian La Republica on Saturday evening, said that the matter was of "top national security." Israel was accused by Syria of flying several planes over the country on Wednesday night.
According to Eitan, Israel was an advocate for peace but doubts the issues between the state and Syria would be solved overnight, Israel Radio reported. In Damascus there are 15 operating terror groups and it is impossible to want peace and represent terror simultaneously, said the minister.
Further, Israeli media was needlessly aggravating the situation, Eitan added.
