Ezra approves Karadi's appointment recommendations

Internal Security Minister Gideon Ezra approved recommendations by Police Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi on Sunday to appoint a deputy police commissioner. Cmdr. Benny Kaniak - chief of police in the Central District - will be appointed Deputy Police Commissioner - the first to fill the position under Karadi. Other shifts included head of police's Planning Division Cmdr. Arik Yekuel - the single religious member of the senior police brass - who will retire on January 1. He will be replaced by Cmdr. David Karoza.
