A day before two years of campaigning by the families of kidnapped IDF reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev come to fruition with a prisoner
exchange, the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee approved Tuesday a bill that seeks to make life easier for other families who find themselves
in similar situations.
The committee approved for its second and third readings a bill proposed by MK Yisrael Hasson (Israel Beiteinu) that would provide state funding for families of kidnapped soldiers to enable them to
advocate their loved ones' cases overseas. "On this of all days, it is important that we translate our respsect for the hostages' families from words to deeds, and I am proud that this is what we did," said Hasson after the bill was passed.
