Finance Minister Ronnie Bar-On and Education Minister Yuli Tamir are scheduled to meet on Sunday morning to discuss the crisis in the education system and the secondary school teachers' strike that began two weeks ago. According to the National Teachers Union, Bar-On and Tamir have demonstrated that they are unable to independently deal with the breakdown of the education system and that responsibility for finding a solution lies with the prime minister. "Between meetings with [Chelsea manager] Avraham Grant and [Palestinian Authority President] Mahmoud Abbas it is necessary that [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert will find time to rescue the education system," Israel Radio quoted the union as saying.
