Firefighters managed to control the fire which broke out in a weapons factory in Nazareth Illit on Friday. The fire also caused a series of explosions as the volatile materials detonated under the intense heat. No one was reported hurt in the incident, but the entire factory was damaged. Security and firefighting crews were unable to enter the premises for many hours due to the constant blasts, and were therefore unsuccessful in controlling the blaze. No plans were made to evacuate the surrounding area; however, police closed off the roads around the factory. According to Army Radio, the factory was used to produce dozens of tons of explosives.
