Fires rage in Petah Tikva, North due to heat

As temperatures climbed on Wednesday, firefighters battled fires throughout the country, including one near factories by the Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva. Ten firefighting crews were summoned to deal with the Petah Tikva blaze, but the fire had already spread to the factory area, sparking concerns that the flames would touch off volatile chemicals. As a precaution, local residents within a 300-meter radius were ordered not to leave their homes. Elsewhere in the city, the heat ignited a field and caused another fire in a stairwell. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents. In the North, firefighters were working to control a blaze that broke out at a metal factory on Kibbutz Menara after making its way down from Lebanon. The factory sustained major damage.
