If [Syrian President Bashar] Assad would be offered compensation that would leave him satisfied, a [peace] agreement with Syria could be signed, former head of military intelligence Aharon Ze'evi Farkash said Thursday evening in a Kadima party conference, Thursday evening.
Israel Radio quoted Farkash as saying that Iran and Hizbullah were "very concerned" about the possibility of Israel offering Assad enough to lure him away from his strategic partnership with the Islamic Republic and the Shi'ite terror organization.
Farkash also said that if Assad would want to see Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, the reserve soldiers whose capture initiated the Second Lebanon War, he could "achieve this within days."
