Four Kassams land in w. Negev

Youth caught at Erez crossing with knife; says he planned to stab Israelis.

Four Kassam rockets were launched from the northern Gaza Strip toward the western Negev on Monday morning, ZAKA reported. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Three of the rockets landed in open areas in the western Negev, while the fourth landed in the Mediterranean. The rocket launches set off Sderot's "Red Dawn" early warning system.

Also on Monday morning, a 17-year-old Palestinian carrying a knife was caught in the Erez border crossing. In questioning, the youth admitted that he intended to stab an Israeli at the crossing. Earlier in the morning, shots were fired at IDF troops near the border fence in the southern Gaza Strip. No one was hurt in the incident. Palestinians opened fire on an IDF Paratroopers force in Nablus early Monday. No one was hurt in the firefight. The force arrested seven fugitives in the operation.
