Friedmann slams criticism of Katsav plea bargain

The Supreme Court erred in criticizing the State Attorney's Office regarding the plea bargain in the sexual crimes case against former president Moshe Katsav, Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann said on Thursday. "The court must preserve the rights of the accused even if he is not supported by the public," Friedmann told Channel 10. The justice minister went on to say that if the Supreme Court decides to suspend the plea bargain it would damage the ability of the attorney general.
