Meretz-Yahad MK Zahava Gal-On petitioned the High Court of Justice on Tuesday, asking it
to order the government-appointed Winograd Committee of Examination into the second
Lebanon war to allow the public to attend its hearings.
Until now, the hearings have been conducted behind closed doors. Gal-On also demanded that the committee publish the minutes of the hearings by the end of the day on which they are held.
Gal-On wrote that the public was entitled to receive comprehensive and detailed information about the mistakes and failures that occurred during the fighting.
