An IDF soldier was lightly wounded on Monday in clashes with Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip.The soldier, from the Armored Corps, was part of a force that intercepted two Palestinians who were trying to lay a bomb along the security fence in the southern Gaza Strip.RELATED:Gaza man killed in Israeli air-strikeIAF strikes in Gaza; 1 killedThe force detected the Palestinians and opened fire, killing one of them. In response, sniper fire was opened and the soldier was wounded and evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.It is still not clear who was responsible for the blast.Following the clashes, two rockets exploded in open land in the Eshkol area near the Gaza Strip.No injuries were reported and no damage was caused.The incidents comes after a Palestinian was killed by IDF gunfire in southern Gaza near the town of Khan Younis two weeks ago.IDF Spokesperson said soldiers saw a group of men approach Israel's border fence with Gaza and launched an air strike against them.The IDF has recorded 35 attempts by Palestinians to plant bombs along the border fence since the beginning of the year.
