The government approved initial construction of permanent settlements for Gush Katif evacuees during a meeting on Sunday afternoon.
The plan provides for the construction of around 400 houses in Nitzanim, and another 250 in the nearby Nitzan. Around 150 additional housing units are planned for Ashkelon, Army Radio reported.
