The Rishon Lezion Magistrates' Court on Friday extended convicted criminal Gregory Lerner's remand by seven days.
Lerner arrived in Israel on Thursday, after being extradited by Paraguay.
Police have launched an investigation into how the convict managed to escape from Israel using a fake passport, and how he transferred to Paraguay the large sum of money with which he was caught, Army Radio reported.
