Hillel Yaffe hospital, to which most of the casualties were evacuated, can be reached at the special emergency number 1255166.
Dep.-Cmdr. Boaz Goldberg, commander of the Hadera
police, said at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, "At this stage, the wounded are all evacuated, the area is closed to allow the sappers to do their jobs, and we're beginning our investigation."
One resident was critical of security arrangements at the place. The man, who lived a couple of blocks from the location of the blast, told reporters that the area was "the municipal market of Hadera, a very crowded area to which many people come to shop. Usually security people check the area, but it looks like the carelessness won out today."
Goldberg, however, maintained that, "Our last attack was 2.5 years ago. There was no specific warning. We were prepared, but we didn't have any warning."
