IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz visited the Gaza Division on Friday morning. According to the IDF, Halutz's visit was meant to give the chief of staff a first-hand tactical view of the army's incursion into northern Gaza.
Halutz spoke with commanders on the ground and heard intelligence and tactical operational briefings.
