Haredim protest Mea Shearim traffic change

A couple dozen haredim tried to block Rehov Strauss and Shabbat Square in Jerusalem on Sunday by dragging objects into the streets. The demonstrators were protesting rerouting of public transportation through the Mea Shearim neighborhood because of the construction of the light rail. Police officers dispersed the demonstrators and reopened the road. Following the first police attempt to disperse the crowd, protesters threw rocks at the police officers. One police officer was wounded and was evacuated for medical treatment.
