A heightened state of preparedness was implemented in the north of the country Thursday afternoon following a statement by Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah in which he threatened to avenge the death of a shepherd who was found lifeless near the border fence.
The IDF said it had shot and killed an armed infiltrator on Wednesday, and was checking whether there was a connection between the two incidents.
