The Histadrut Labor Federation declared a labor dispute in Arkia, the first since the airline was privatized in the 1980s.
A logistics committee authorized the dispute by telephone.
Histadrut Transport Workers Union chairman Avi Edri said Thursday that he hoped the declaration would spur the airline's management into serious negotiations with the union.
