Histadrut head hopes PM will solve salary crisis

Histadrut Labor Federation Chairman Ofer Eini said Tuesday that he would like to believe that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will uphold his commitment to resolve the crisis of local authority workers' unpaid salaries within a few days, Israel Radio reported. Eini warned, however, that the Histadrut had not canceled the general public strike it threatened to implement last week, but only postponed it indefinitely. If no solution is found, Eini said, the Histadrut will renew the strike on March 21.
