A human resources company in the security field will award 300,000 NIS in compensation to a female worker who was laid off in her seventh month of pregnancy, the Regional Labor Court in Jerusalem ruled on Monday.
The ruling showed that the company fired the woman illegally, fully aware that she was pregnant.
Justice Sarah Savior ruled that they would compensate the woman for unemployment, loss of income, losses of maternity benefits, and emotional damage.
According to law, firing a pregnant woman who works more than half a year is a criminal offense that violates the law of equal employment opportunities.
