Hundreds of haredim protesting in Beit Shemesh

Hundreds of haredim were demonstrating Sunday afternoon in Ramat Beit Shemesh at the intersection of Nahar Hayarden and Yehuda Hanassi Streets, an area known locally as the "Casbah." Participants were protesting the continued incarceration of three haredi activists, who were arrested two weeks ago during protests over the Beit Shemesh Municipality's decision to tear down signs admonishing secular visitors not to enter the neighborhood in immodest dress. Children of the imprisoned demonstrators, dressed up in prison garb, shouted slogans such as, "Give me my father back!" and "You only arrested him because he's haredi!"
