The IDF crackdown on Hamas activists in the West Bank continued over the weekend, with the arrest before dawn Friday of Hamas activist Professor Nasser Shaer, dean of the Sha'aria College at An-Najah University in Nablus, in Sebastiya, northwest of the city.
On Saturday morning a Hamas activist was arrested by security forces in Tarkumiya, northwest of Hebron. Four Palestinians, including two minors, were arrested by IDF and Judea and Samaria police in a raid in Hussan near Bethlehem. According to police, the four admitted to throwing stones and firebombs at Israeli vehicles.
There were only a handful of Palestinian-initiated shooting incidents at Israeli security forces over the weekend in the West Bank. Shots were fired at an IDF post located at Assira a-Shamaliya near Nablus on Friday. No one was wounded, but security forces said 10 bullets hit the position.
On Friday night shots were fired at an IDF post west of Tulkarm. No one was wounded.
