Two 16-year-old Palestinians were caught at the Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus, as they were attempting to smuggle three handguns, four bombs, and a large number of bullets into Israel.
According to the army, the soldiers manning the position were alerted by the youths’ suspicious behavior and stopped them for inspection. They found the weapons and ammunition in the bags the boys were carrying.
Sappers were deployed to the site to detonate the explosives, and the two youths were going to be handed over to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) for questioning.
