In what may be the IDF's first-ever dance-off, two reservists on the Jordanian border posted a YouTube video of themselves dancing to Shakira's song "Waka Waka," a month after a Nahal brigade gained notoriety for a synchronized, six-person dance to Keisha's Tik Tok in the West Bank. However, the challengers' dance didn't approach the level of complexity shown by the the Nahal brigade, which will likely retain the title of the 'IDF's best dance brigade.'RELATED:Dancing dispute: Soldiers stir controversy onlineReal Israel: Dance troops
The new video features the two soldiers shuffling back and forth together for a while before copycatting a Macarena dance move from the Nahal routine, facing each other, and butting their guns together. The soldiers then perform a square-dance turn and resume shuffling. At the end of the video, a caption reads: "In temperature of 40 degrees heat even adults go crazy."In July, six soldiers from the Nahal brigade posted a video on YouTube of themselves dancing to Keisha's Tik Tok during a patrol in the West Bank city of Hebron. The video received widespread publicity. Two squad commanders were reprimanded in the incident, and were reported to be starring in an upcoming IDF educational video to prevent such occurrences in the future. It is unclear whether the Jordan-border reservist dance team will also participate in the video.
