Only a matter of minutes after OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant briefed reporters near Kibbutz Mefalsim about the ongoing IDF operation in Gaza, there was a loud explosion heard a few hundred meters away.
Although at first thought to be a Kassam rocket, it later turned out to be an IDF detonation of an explosive device found close to the security fence.
