IDF kills armed Palestinian near Nablus
Troops arrest 14 fugitives in West Bank; IAF strikes building in s. Gaza Strip.
(photo credit: AP [file])IDF troops shot and killed an armed Palestinian fugitive near the former settlement of Sa-Nur, north of Nablus, early Tuesday morning.
The soldiers surrounded the house in which the man was hiding and ordered him to surrender.
The man came out and began shooting at the soldiers, who returned fire, killing the fugitive.
No soldiers were wounded in the incident.
Eyewitnesses identified the fugitive as 27-year-old Al-Aksa Martyrs' Brigades operative Nabil Hana'ana.
In other operations throughout West Bank overnight Monday, the IDF arrested 14 Palestinian fugitives.
Meanwhile, IAF aircraft struck a building in the southern Gaza Strip which concealed the opening of a tunnel used for weapons smuggling.
The building was damaged, but no one was wounded in the strike, Israel Radio reported.
