IDF troops shot three Palestinians as they approached the fence around the Gaza Strip Saturday, killing one and lightly injuring the other two, the army said.
The soldiers fired when the Palestinians appeared to be planting an explosive device, the army said. The army called the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry in Gaza to send an ambulance to evacuate the dead Palestinian on the Gazan side of the fence. The two Palestinians who were lightly injured were taken for questioning, the army said.
The army did not immediately say if the Palestinians were carrying weapons.
