IDF, police catch drug shipment on Egyptian border

Border Patrol troops from the Ramon station and IDF trackers from OC Southern Command captured a large drug shipment on the Israeli-Egyptian border on Friday morning. Troops identified four suspected smugglers during routine patrol operations. The smugglers noticed the troops, threw bags filled with drugs on the ground and fled. The shipment included 14.5 kilograms of heroin, 17 kilograms of hashish and US$50,000. Police and IDF forces were searching the area for the smugglers.
