IDF shoots Palestinian youth near Nablus

Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian youth early Sunday and arrested 17 suspected terrorists, Palestinian and Israeli officials said, pushing forward with a West Bank crackdown following a suicide bombing last week. The Palestinian teen, Ayad Hashash, 17, was shot as he tried to throw a Molotov cocktail at soldiers making arrests in the Balata refugee camp, and the device exploded in his hand, said Nasser Abu Aziz, a leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades in Nablus. The IDF said troops had returned fire at a group of Palestinians who were shooting at the soldiers. The exchanges of fire lasted three hours before the army left Balata, Abu Aziz said. Abu Aziz said the group would retaliate for the killing of Hashash.
